Sarfraz blames captain for embarrassing performance of the team

Karachi (PPI): Former cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz said the Pakistani team skipper Younis Khan abuse players and his inconsistent policy of changing batting order was the reason behind embarrassing performance of Pakistan cricket team in Sri Lanka. Pakistan faced three consecutive defeats at the hands of Sri Lanka, who has recorded a 3-0 win in the five-match ODI series. "I have been told by many people who are with team in Sri Lanka that the captain Younis Khan misbehaves with the teammates," Sarfraz Nawaz told PPI. "The behavior of the captain with the players has lead to the disunity within the team. All players have been performing below par in the team including the skipper," Sarfraz said. He said that the players must be dealt with care by the skipper. "There was no co-operation in the team which is necessary for the team's perform," he added. He said that Younis policy of changing batting order has not helped the team. "Shoaib (Malik) sometimes has been sent to open and in the next match he goes at number six. Younis himself changes his batting order. And the changes he made in the team was also questionable," Sarfraz said. The former pacer said that Shahid Afridi was also not bowling up to the mark as he bowled in UAE against Australia and in World T20 Championship. "He was seen making efforts in the UAE and in England but now he was not making effort to pick wickets at all," he added.
