Pakistan Embassy staff member dies of H1N1

Jakarta (PPI): The Embassy of Pakistan confirmed Tuesday one of its staff members had died of the H1N1 flu virus. ``The health ministry official told our charge d'affaires it was swine flu,'' Press & Cultural Attache Saeed Javed told Jakarta Post over the phone. Tanwer Akhtar Ansari, 50, who worked as an accountant at the embassy, died at MMC hospital Monday morning after being treated as a H1N1 flu suspect. His body has been flown home for burial, Javed said. ``He had been in Indonesia for three years and his term here had ended; he was to leave within a couple of weeks,'' Javed said. He is first foreigner to fall victim to the deadly virus in Indonesia.
