PMA threatens country-wide shut down of health services

Karachi: (PPI) Pakistan Medical Association has strongly condemned yet another murder of Dr. Sajjad Arain in Hyderabad who was killed while on his way to attained duty at civil hospital Hyderabad. A similar incident had also occurred a couple of days before in Quetta when Dr. Iqbal Zaidi was killed by unidentified miscreants. ''It is unfortunate that PMA on every occasion has drawn attention of the law enforcing agencies towards plight of doctors but no effect. By now this easy phenomena of killing the doctors has been a routine and right to life of those who are providing souls to humanity irrespective of sex, color, religion or beliefs, is sadly no more available to them in the country,'' a release said on Friday. PMA demanded immediate arrest of culprits as the doctors appear to be victimized due to carelessness of the government. If stern action is not taken within 24 hours, the doctors community will be forced to hold country-wide protest by calling total shut down of health services in the country, release said.
